Casio Expands EDIFICE Line with New Automatic Mechanical EFK-200

Following the global sell-out of its debut mechanical model, Casio is doubling down on its high-end automotive aesthetic. The new EDIFICE EFK-200 features a Japanese-made automatic movement housed in a complex, multi-finished case designed to shift its visual character depending on the angle of incoming light.

The EFK-200 series leans heavily into the brand's "Speed & Intelligence" concept, drawing direct inspiration from luxury automotive design. Its cushion-shaped bezel and rounded, flowing edges utilize a combination of mirror and hairline polishing. This contrast in surface treatment is engineered to catch light dynamically, mimicking the sleek, shifting reflections found on high-end vehicle bodywork.

Material choices further emphasize this performance-oriented pedigree. Select models, including the EFK-200XPB and EFK-200CD, utilize forged carbon dials—a material synonymous with elite sports cars—to provide a distinct marbled texture. Other variants, such as the EFK-200D and EFK-200DG, employ electroforming and clear-coat finishes to achieve deep, vibrant color gradations. Enthusiasts can observe the Japanese automatic movement in action through the watch’s transparent case back, a feature that anchors the series' focus on both mechanical precision and visual craftsmanship.
