UBTECH Unveils UWORLD U1, the First Mass-Produced Ultra-Bionic Robot

With over 13,361 units already ordered, Shenzhen-based UBTECH has officially entered the consumer robotics market. The company’s new UWORLD U1 series—a lineup of full-size, ultra-bionic humanoids—marks a pivot from industrial automation toward domestic companionship, backed by a proprietary emotion-aware language model and lifelike biomimetic hardware.

The UWORLD U1 lineup includes three distinct models: the semi-torso U1 Lite, the full-body U1 Pro, and the high-dynamic U1 Ultra, starting at 119,800 RMB. Under the direction of CEO James Zhou, the company is executing a long-term strategy to transition from industrial machinery to consumer-facing AI platforms. This expansion follows UBTECH's 2025 performance, where it ranked first globally in sales volume for full-sized embodied humanoid robots.

Technologically, the series relies on an integrated architecture featuring 88 degrees of freedom and a dual-pivot cervical spine capable of replicating 90% of human movement. The robots utilize an emotion-aware LLM that recognizes over 20 distinct emotional states with 90% accuracy. To address privacy concerns, UBTECH implemented a three-layer security framework, prioritizing local data processing over cloud dependency.

Beyond commercial sales, the company launched the Human-Robot Companionship Initiative to address mental health challenges among vulnerable populations. In 2026, UBTECH plans to donate 100 customized units to children and seniors living alone. These robots will utilize 3D facial reconstruction and voiceprint replication to provide structured, long-term psychological support, positioning the UWORLD series as both a functional tool and an emotionally responsive companion.
