While this marks the first year under the Terakeet banner, the event represents the eighth year of an ongoing commitment to local education. The tournament evolved from a long-standing initiative focused on removing barriers to learning through school supply drives and specialized programs. Organizers hope the transition to a titled invitational will expand community involvement and deepen the financial impact for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
Terakeet CEO and co-founder Mac Cummings noted that the project is rooted in the company’s local history. Since the organization was founded by Terakeet employees in 2013, it has functioned as a community-driven effort to support students. By leveraging their network of clients and vendors, the firm intends to secure the necessary funding to ensure local classrooms are prepared for the start of the academic term.
