Ribo and Madrigal Advance siRNA Candidate for MASH Treatment

A strategic partnership between Suzhou Ribo Life Science and Madrigal Pharmaceuticals has reached its first major milestone, successfully nominating a lead candidate drug for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis. The companies are now transitioning into IND-enabling studies to prepare for upcoming clinical trials.

The collaboration leverages Ribo’s expertise in RNA interference technology alongside Madrigal’s established clinical footprint in liver disease. By combining Ribo’s siRNA discovery platform with Madrigal's specialized knowledge, the team aims to address the significant medical gap for patients suffering from MASH, a condition currently lacking sufficient therapeutic options.

Li-Ming Gan, co-CEO and Global R&D President at Ribo, noted that the rapid progress of the joint program reflects the complementary nature of the two firms. Moving forward, the partnership will focus on accelerating the development of the nominated candidate. This project represents a broader effort to expand the therapeutic landscape for liver-directed treatments, potentially providing new interventions for a global patient population.
