Innova NanoJet Named Air Purification Innovator of the Year

Scottish deep-tech firm Innova NanoJet Technologies has secured the 2026 Air Purification Technology Innovator of the Year award from SME News. The recognition follows the company’s successful integration into the NHS Supply Chain framework and the deployment of its filter-free, water-based air cleaning system across international markets.

The company’s proprietary NanoJet platform departs from traditional filtration methods by generating trillions of supersonic, nano-sized water droplets. These droplets encapsulate airborne contaminants—including bacteria, allergens, and odors—without the use of chemicals or the production of ozone. This active approach recently demonstrated a 93% bacterial clearance rate in ten minutes during independent biovalidation testing linked to the NHS.

Beyond laboratory success, the technology is gaining traction in high-stakes environments. Innova NanoJet has been selected for both the disinfection and air-purification lots of the NHS Supply Chain’s 2026 framework, valid through 2028. Practical adoption is already underway, with the Strakonice Hospital in the Czech Republic utilizing the systems across its pulmonary department and Pegasus Elite Aviation installing the units across its private jet fleet.

Supported by a £1.5 million grant from Scottish Enterprise, the firm is scaling its manufacturing operations from its Vale of Leven facility and a new production line in Malaysia. As the company expands, leadership intends to leverage these international partnerships to establish NanoJet as a standard for indoor air quality in healthcare, education, and commercial sectors globally.
