Red Metal Resources reports on Carrizal operations after Atacama deluge

The intense rainfall, which ranks among the most significant events in the region since the 2015 floods, rendered local access routes hazardous. Geophysical Studies Chile, the contractor tasked with conducting an induced polarization survey at the Carrizal Copper-Gold-Cobalt Property, demobilized its crew for one week as a safety precaution. The team has since returned to the site, and management does not anticipate any material delays to the project timeline.

While the survey crew paused, production at the Farellon 1/8 concession continued without interruption. The lessee, Minera KMT, mitigated the flood risk by constructing diversion trenches that protected both the mine entrance and the on-site camp from water damage. Caitlin Jeffs, President and CEO of Red Metal Resources, noted that prioritizing personnel safety was the correct decision, adding that the proactive infrastructure measures taken by the operator ensured operational continuity during the extreme weather.
