CEO Bjørn Gulden lauded the appointment, highlighting Kretschmer’s deep institutional history with the sportswear giant. She spent 25 years at Adidas earlier in her career and arrives back at the company following a six-year tenure as CFO at C&A. Gulden emphasized that her recent experience in cost discipline within the vertical retail sector makes her an ideal fit for the brand’s future trajectory.
Harm Ohlmeyer, who has served the company for 29 years and held the CFO role for a decade, played a pivotal role in the succession planning process. His tenure saw significant structural changes, including the divestitures of TaylorMade and Reebok to sharpen the company's focus on its core brand. Ohlmeyer will remain an advisor to the board to ensure a seamless transition. Nassef Sawiris, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, credited Ohlmeyer’s operational expertise for guiding the firm through volatile market periods and supporting its recent turnaround.
