Chairman David Meek credited Oelkers with strengthening the firm’s drug pipeline and securing its financial standing, noting that the organization remains well-positioned for its next phase of development. Oelkers, who joined the company nearly ten years ago, stated that he remains fully committed to his duties until the end of his tenure, focusing on a seamless transition.
Sobi confirmed that its operational strategy and financial targets remain unchanged following the announcement. The Stockholm-based biopharma company, which reported 28 billion SEK in revenue for 2025, continues to focus on its global footprint across Europe, North America, and Asia. The search for a new leader comes as the firm balances its established portfolio with ongoing research and development efforts.
