The atmosphere outside the Powell Street BART station was electric as the brand’s iconic mascot greeted customers who began queuing at 7:15 p.m. the previous evening. For many, the opening served as a homecoming for the brand, which has maintained a strong regional presence since launching its first U.S. location in nearby Daly City nearly three decades ago. Beth Dela Cruz, President of Jollibee North America, noted that the community’s reception underscored the deep connection local residents have with the menu, particularly its signature Chickenjoy fried chicken.
First-time guests joined long-time loyalists to experience the fanfare, which included live music and promotional giveaways. Beyond the immediate excitement of the downtown launch, the company plans to broaden its California footprint with upcoming locations in Oxnard and Elk Grove. The new San Francisco site operates daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering dine-in, take-out, and digital ordering options to accommodate the bustling Market Street corridor.
