SafeSport Offers Free Abuse Prevention Training for International Day

The SafeSport® Trained Core course serves as the entry point for a four-year educational series designed to foster safer athletic environments. Participants learn to recognize vulnerability factors, apply protective strategies, and navigate the reporting process for misconduct. Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, CEO of the Center, emphasized that the program shifts the focus from purely athletic performance to the necessity of building secure spaces where participants can thrive.

Registration remains open through August 8 on a first-come, first-served basis for individuals not currently affiliated with the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. Users can access the material by applying the code SAFESPORTDAY26 at checkout, with a completion deadline of August 9. For those within the Olympic system, the course remains a standard requirement, and members should contact their respective governing bodies for access. Since 2017, the organization has delivered over 9 million training modules to more than 4.2 million people, reinforcing its mandate to eliminate physical, emotional, and sexual abuse across all levels of American sports.
