This collaboration marks a significant shift for the convenience sector, which has historically been difficult for brands to penetrate with targeted digital advertising. By utilizing the Ibotta Performance Network, 7-Eleven aims to provide brands with the same level of accountability and measurement typically reserved for grocery or delivery channels. Shoppers can now clip offers within the 7-Eleven and Speedway applications before purchasing items in-store, at the pump, or through delivery services. Rewards from these transactions are deposited automatically into the user's loyalty accounts. Yaqub Baiani, Chief Product Officer at 7-Eleven, noted that the initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance the value of each shopper visit while boosting volume for brand partners. Bryan Leach, founder and CEO of Ibotta, added that the infrastructure provides brands with a direct path to reach customers in a high-volume retail environment, effectively bridging the gap between digital content and physical store traffic.
7-Eleven brings performance-based digital offers to convenience retail
Convenience giant 7-Eleven has partnered with Ibotta to integrate performance-based promotions across its 11,500 U.S. locations. The deal allows consumer packaged goods brands to deliver digital offers directly to 7-Eleven, 7NOW, and Speedway app users, ensuring payments only occur when a verified product sale is completed.
