Lotus Infrastructure Secures $1.8 Billion for Energy Expansion

Greenwich-based Lotus Infrastructure Partners has closed a record-breaking $1.8 billion capital raise, signaling a surge in institutional appetite for energy infrastructure. The funds, earmarked for power generation, battery storage, and alternative fuels, arrive as AI-driven demand and industrial consumption push global energy markets to a critical, high-growth juncture.

The firm secured $1.3 billion for Fund IV, supplemented by $275 million in co-investment capital and a $170 million single-asset continuation vehicle. This marks the largest fundraising achievement in the company’s two-decade history. CEO Himanshu Saxena noted that the firm is uniquely positioned to deploy these assets against the backdrop of an unprecedented need for new energy infrastructure.

Lotus will target a broad spectrum of energy assets, ranging from traditional transmission and thermal power to emerging technologies like ammonia and methanol production. FirstPoint Equity Capital acted as the exclusive global placement agent for the raise, with legal oversight provided by Kirkland & Ellis LLP. To date, the firm has managed over $4 billion in equity capital across a portfolio of transactions exceeding $10 billion in total enterprise value.
