Jensen Infrastructure Launches High-Capacity Pipe Plant in Lockeford

Jensen Infrastructure has commenced operations at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Lockeford, California, designed to supply reinforced concrete pipe and box culverts across Northern California, Nevada, and Oregon. The site utilizes advanced automation to meet growing regional demand for heavy-duty storm drainage and transportation infrastructure projects.

The new Lockeford plant represents a significant expansion of the company’s production footprint, integrating concrete batching, reinforcement-cage welding, and specialized curing chambers. The facility houses an ePak packerhead system for pipes ranging from 12 to 48 inches in diameter, alongside a three-pit vibrating-core system capable of producing pipe up to 120 inches and box culverts up to 12 by 12 feet. All units undergo rigorous quality testing, including vacuum assessments and dimensional checks, to ensure compliance with Classes III through V standards.

Beyond production capacity, the operation emphasizes sustainability and logistics efficiency. A one-megawatt rooftop solar array provides enough power to offset nearly all of the facility's annual electricity requirements. By centralizing the manufacturing of manholes, catch basins, and vaults alongside pipe production, the company aims to streamline supply chains for regional contractors and public agencies. Eric L. Jensen, Chairman and CEO, described the plant as a comprehensive production system designed to provide long-term infrastructure reliability while reducing lead times for local projects.
