Sinch integrates communication APIs into AI coding environments

Developers can now build and test Sinch applications directly within their coding environments through a new suite of tools. By integrating with AI assistants and editors like Visual Studio Code, the platform aims to eliminate the friction of switching between documentation, web portals, and live API testing interfaces.

The suite introduces Simulator Mode, allowing engineers to validate integrations before establishing a formal account or executing live API calls. This capability targets the common hurdle of navigating configuration and credential setup before writing functional code. By embedding these services directly into the development workflow, Sinch seeks to streamline the initial evaluation of its communication stack.

Compatibility extends to major AI-assisted coding tools including Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and ChatGPT Desktop. This is achieved through an MCP server that provides AI agents with live, accurate API definitions and structured product knowledge. These integrations cover a broad range of Sinch offerings, spanning Voice, Verification, Authentication, and Mailgun services. According to David Kårfors, VP of Product Management, the goal is to keep developers within their primary workspace while accessing the platform’s full technical resources.
