The company’s operating income reached $579 million during the three-month period ending June 30, with patient care costs per treatment declining slightly to $277.40 from $280.11 in the previous quarter. This performance was bolstered by a 1.09% increase in average daily dialysis treatments, which reached 92,649. CEO Javier Rodriguez attributed these results to the dedication of the company’s clinical teams and strategic advancements in dialysis innovation.
Financial maneuvers during the quarter included the issuance of a $500 million incremental Term Loan B-2, proceeds of which were directed toward reducing the balance of the company's revolving credit line. Additionally, DaVita returned value to shareholders by repurchasing 2.2 million shares at an average price of $154.95. As of mid-year, the company managed 3,266 outpatient centers globally, providing care to approximately 298,500 patients, while its Integrated Kidney Care division expanded to include 64,900 patients under risk-based arrangements.
