Directed by J. Robert Schulz, the movie centers on a young boy’s coming-of-age journey, featuring veteran actress Kieu Chinh as the matriarch, Bà Nội. The cast includes Nguyen Vu Uy Nhan, Samuel An, Lan Thy, Le Anh Huy, Tien Pham, and Trinh Tu Trung.
The project gained momentum following screenings at the 2026 Marché du Film in Cannes and a successful run at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV). At the festival, Kieu Chinh earned a Screen Excellence Merit Award, marking a career that spans nearly seven decades. For the production team, this theatrical launch represents a homecoming, bridging the collaboration between U.S. and Vietnamese creatives to share a story rooted in memory and resilience.
