Post Holdings Narrows Fiscal 2026 Outlook Amid Mixed Quarterly Results

Post Holdings reported third-quarter net sales of $1.9 billion, a 1.8% decline compared to the previous year. While the St. Louis-based consumer packaged goods firm saw profit margins tighten, it responded by narrowing its full-year 2026 Adjusted EBITDA guidance to a range of $1,560 million to $1,570 million.

The company’s quarterly performance reflects a transition period marked by divestitures and shifting market dynamics. Operating profit fell to $189.3 million, down from $234.6 million in the same period last year, while net earnings dropped 41.7% to $63.4 million. Management attributed the revenue pressure to lower volumes in pet food and cereal segments, alongside the normalization of pricing following the prior year's avian influenza-driven spikes.

Despite these headwinds, Post Holdings aggressively managed its capital structure during the quarter, repurchasing 2.1 million shares for $198.9 million. Looking ahead, the company anticipates a fiscal 2027 start with an Adjusted EBITDA baseline of approximately $1.48 billion. Leadership expects that productivity gains and strategic pricing will help insulate the business from ongoing inflationary pressures and continued volume softness in specific categories.
