Ray Reitsma, President and CEO of Mercantile Bank, emphasized that the investment serves as a cornerstone for community growth, noting that housing access remains a critical driver for individual and neighborhood success. Sonali Allen, the bank’s Community Development Officer, added that the funding is designed to be flexible, allowing partners to deploy resources where they are needed most—whether for physical housing development or the administrative strengthening of the nonprofits themselves.
