XDI and Veridion merge climate modeling with site-level intelligence

During Climate Week NYC, XDI and Veridion announced a partnership to synthesize engineering-based climate risk models with granular corporate site intelligence. By mapping over two billion buildings against 40,000 corporate entities, the collaboration aims to provide investors with unprecedented visibility into how physical climate hazards threaten specific business operations.

The integration combines XDI’s Multiple Company Intelligence (MCI) platform with Veridion’s vast database of corporate site activity. While XDI specializes in assessing physical climate risk—often even when clients lack precise asset-location data—Veridion provides the contextual layer required to understand site scale, status, and functional importance to the broader corporate structure.

Dr. Karl Mallon, CEO of XDI, noted that the partnership allows for more sophisticated inquiries into organizational resilience by enriching asset-level data with operational specifics. Florin Tufan, CEO of Veridion, emphasized that knowing a location is only the starting point; the real value lies in connecting those physical sites to the corporate entities behind them to determine their actual criticality.

This methodology is already being deployed in a project with Morningstar Sustainalytics. The initiative seeks to translate raw climate hazard exposure into actionable financial insights for asset managers and owners. By analyzing both direct damage potential and indirect operational disruptions across global portfolios, the companies aim to close the gap between environmental modeling and investment-grade risk assessment.
