The legal action, filed by Parton’s longtime manager Danny Nozell on behalf of her company She’s Alive, LLC, mandates that Seaver and his security firm, Squadron Augmented Protection Services, remain at least 1,000 feet away from company employees and legal representatives. Nozell alleges that Seaver, who served as Parton’s head of security for two decades, used his military background and access to weaponry to intimidate business partners during a period of escalating tensions following the singer's August 25 passing.
Court filings include messages attributed to Seaver, such as claims that he was becoming the "hand of retribution" for his family and assertions that he intended to damage the brand’s partnerships. Seaver has firmly denied these claims, characterizing the communications as private, grief-fueled "rage talk" between two men who were once close. He maintains that his comments were directed at specific business entities he believes mistreated his aunt, rather than his former manager.
This legal friction coincides with the termination of Seaver’s security contract for Parton’s Nashville properties, including her home and museum. While Seaver’s camp views his removal as a bad-faith effort to seize control of the singer's estate, the court has set an October 7 hearing to determine whether these temporary protections should be made permanent.
