Brink succeeds Neal Froneman, who served as the previous Chair. In his new capacity, Brink intends to focus on the Consolidated Mining Standard Initiative, a framework designed to bolster transparency and accountability across the global gold sector. He will work directly with Council CEO David Tait to manage the evolving role of gold within the modern financial system.
David Tait welcomed the appointment, citing Brink's deep industry expertise as a key asset for the Council’s future. The World Gold Council represents the world's leading gold mining companies, focusing on research, policy advocacy, and the development of sustainable industry standards. Brink continues to serve as the head of Toronto-based Franco-Nevada, a gold-focused royalty and streaming firm known for its debt-free, diversified portfolio of cash-flow producing assets.
