Cast member Avery Woods noted that the show captures a diverse range of approaches to religion, with some women deeply committed to the church while others challenge its traditional boundaries. Behind the scenes, the original series faces turbulence as stars like Mikayla Matthews have departed, citing ethical concerns regarding the inclusion of Taylor Frankie Paul. Paul has since announced her own exit, citing a desire to relieve the pressure on her former castmates following a period of intense public scrutiny.
