Sherwin-Williams Opens Largest North American Manufacturing Plant

The project adds nearly 50,000 square feet of production space, integrating advanced automation and four new rail spurs to streamline material handling. This infrastructure upgrade links directly to a nearby distribution service center, creating a cohesive hub for the company's regional supply chain.

Heidi Petz, Chair and CEO of Sherwin-Williams, noted that the facility enhances the company's ability to respond to shifting market demand while maintaining a reliable supply network. The expansion was supported by a public-private partnership involving the state of North Carolina, Iredell County, and the City of Statesville. Operating in the region since 1993, the company cited the local skilled workforce and proximity to key transportation routes as primary drivers for the long-term investment. State and local officials, including Lt. Governor Rachel Hunt and Mayor Doug Hendrix, attended the event to underscore the impact on local job creation and the city's standing in advanced manufacturing.
