The three-day event, hosted by Wi-Fi NOW, gathers industry leaders including Intel, Cisco, and MediaTek to map the trajectory of wireless infrastructure over the next decade. Dr. Fard’s session, scheduled for 17:45 CEST, targets a specific bottleneck: while Wi-Fi standards have evolved rapidly, the supporting RF front-end hardware has struggled to maintain parity in power efficiency and range.
QuantalRF is betting on a ground-up redesign of the signal chain, utilizing mature silicon processes to improve integration for mobile devices and edge AI. Fard argues that as systems move toward Wi-Fi 8 and satellite communications, the reliance on legacy RF approaches will become a significant liability. The company, which holds over 225 patents, intends to demonstrate how its configurable front-end ICs and antenna designs can bridge the gap between theoretical software potential and physical hardware reality.
