Speaking at the Anti-Defamation League’s State of the Arts reception in New York, the 54-year-old actress revealed that her manager, lawyer, and publicists dropped her almost immediately following the controversy. Blair, who deleted the post and issued an apology for conflating Muslims with radical Islamists, described the experience as a lesson in what it feels like to be erased. Beyond the industry fallout, the loss extended to her private life, including her son’s godmother, who ended their friendship.
Blair noted that the situation created a traumatic environment for her teenage son, shifting her focus toward stability rather than regaining industry status. While she acknowledged the pain of the period, she is currently returning to work with a new, smaller team. Her professional path now includes the upcoming film Schmoolie the Deathwatcher and the development of a documentary titled Hineni. This project aims to address antisemitism by featuring conversations with those who hold opposing viewpoints, an approach she believes is essential for fostering real dialogue.
