The companies are focusing on a parallel migration across three critical sectors: transitioning from Wi-Fi 7 to Wi-Fi 8, upgrading from XGS-PON to 50G-PON, and evolving 5G into 5G-Advanced. By combining MediaTek’s silicon expertise with Airoha’s specialized network access solutions, the partnership aims to provide telecom operators with a unified ecosystem for fiber, wireless broadband, and enterprise connectivity. This approach is designed to simplify system integration by supporting major software frameworks like OpenWrt, RDK-B, and prplOS.
Beyond raw performance metrics, the strategy emphasizes enterprise-grade reliability and energy efficiency to meet the rigorous demands of modern data traffic. With billions of devices already deployed globally, the group is leveraging its position within the semiconductor manufacturing chain to ensure supply chain stability for these infrastructure upgrades. MediaTek and Airoha are showcasing these capabilities at Booth K35 during the event, which runs from October 13 to 15, 2026, at the Messe Wien in Austria.
