Vladimir Obradović Named President of International Project Management Association

In Zadar, Croatia, the International Project Management Association unanimously appointed Professor Vladimir Obradović as its new president. The move signals a strategic shift for the global federation, which oversees project management standards across more than 70 nations, as it pivots toward integrating artificial intelligence and sustainability into its core operations.

Obradović transitions into the role after serving as IPMA Vice President, where he managed the organization’s international growth initiatives. His leadership team now includes Tim Jaques of the United States and Italy’s Giovanni Pisano as Vice Presidents, alongside Mladen Vukomanović of Croatia, who takes the post of Chair of the Council of Delegates.

Beyond internal restructuring, the association aims to expand its influence within both private and public sectors. The leadership plans to collaborate with government institutions to refine the delivery of major infrastructure projects. Obradović, a professor at the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Organizational Sciences, emphasized that the profession must adapt to technological shifts, noting that artificial intelligence will remain a central pillar of his agenda as the organization seeks to elevate global project management standards.
