Victor Shiblie Joins Qorvis as Senior Advisor

Victor Shiblie, the longtime president and publisher of The Washington Diplomat, is transitioning to the private sector as a senior advisor at Qorvis. His move marks a significant shift for the D.C.-based advisory firm, which aims to leverage his decades of experience navigating international diplomatic and business networks.

Shiblie’s career spans over 30 years, during which he transformed The Washington Diplomat into a central hub for the capital’s foreign embassy community. His tenure involved managing relationships with over 180 embassies and producing high-level policy forums that bridged the gap between government officials, corporate executives, and international leaders. Matt Lauer, CEO of Qorvis, cited Shiblie’s unique ability to maneuver through these intersecting worlds as a key asset for the firm’s global clientele.

At Qorvis, Shiblie will focus on strategic communications, international business development, and market access. His background extends beyond media into international trade and infrastructure investment, areas where he has previously connected foreign governments and private investors. His addition to the firm aligns with the company’s strategy to guide sovereign nations and multinational corporations through complex geopolitical environments. Shiblie holds a B.B.A. from Radford University and has served in leadership roles with organizations including the World Affairs Council and the Ambassadors Ball Host Committee.
