Since Dickinson took the helm in December last year, the network has expanded rapidly from roughly 2,250 sites. The new hardware, developed alongside shareholder kernTerminal, integrates solar and battery-powered technology with a refined touchscreen interface. This design aims to streamline operations for delivery drivers and improve the user experience for consumers collecting or returning parcels.
Beginning 2nd November, all new installations will feature the Generation 3 specification. The company also intends to retrofit its existing estate by the end of Q1 2027. This hardware rollout is paired with a bespoke operating system designed to enhance visibility over site surveys, installation, and maintenance, providing the agility required to manage an open-access network serving multiple carriers. The firm’s reliance on off-grid power allows for deployment in locations lacking mains electricity, a factor that remains central to its expansion strategy in the increasingly competitive UK out-of-home delivery market.
