Dr. Upfill-Brown joins the practice following a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. His clinical portfolio emphasizes high-tech interventions, including robot-assisted navigation and endoscopic spine surgery, alongside cervical and lumbar disc replacement. Beyond his surgical work, he brings an extensive academic background, having authored nearly 100 research publications featured in major medical journals such as the European Spine Journal.
Christopher Good, president and CEO of VSI, noted that the expansion is a direct response to rising demand for expert-led spinal care. For patients, the addition of a new surgeon provides a wider window for consultations at the facility located on Sunrise Valley Drive. Dr. Upfill-Brown, who holds degrees from UCLA, Stanford, and Oxford, stated that the transition aligns with his interest in leveraging multidisciplinary teams to improve recovery outcomes. VSI continues to operate as an independent center, integrating regenerative medicine and pain management with surgical intervention under a single roof.
