Martin’s appointment marks the launch of a dedicated department focused on integrating 401(k) solutions with the broader tax and legacy planning strategies that define the firm’s practice. Before joining Shepherd Wealth, he held senior positions at industry firms including John Hancock, Mutual of America, The Standard, and Empower, where he specialized in scaling retirement plan businesses for financial advisors.
Joe Gaglio, Founder and CEO of Shepherd Wealth, noted that the move brings a veteran perspective to the team, citing a 15-year professional acquaintance with Martin. For his part, Martin emphasized that the firm’s tax-centric approach to wealth management drew him to the role. He intends to leverage his background to help the firm’s advisor network better navigate the intersection of retirement, tax efficiency, and long-term financial planning for business owners.
