Brooke Malone has been named Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Vortex Companies, a move signaling the trenchless infrastructure firm's intent to scale its workforce following a massive expansion period. Malone, who joined in 2019, will now oversee global HR strategy as the company integrates its international operations.
Since Malone arrived at Vortex, the company has grown from 300 employees to nearly 2,000. CEO Mike Vellano credited her with transforming a nascent HR department into a scalable organization capable of supporting rapid acquisitions and complex talent management. Her tenure has focused on standardizing recruiting, onboarding, and compliance across multiple locations, providing the structural backbone necessary for the firm's aggressive market growth.Looking ahead, Malone plans to prioritize the implementation of advanced HRIS systems and automation to streamline global operations. Her immediate agenda includes bolstering the recruiting team under a new Director of Talent to improve retention and support ongoing corporate expansion. Before her time at Vortex, Malone held human resources roles at Brinker International and National Oilwell Varco, bringing a background in large-scale systems implementation to her new executive position.
