Frustrated by a toddler who repeatedly unbuckled his safety harness, a Connersville inventor has developed the Rowdy No More Safety For Toddlers. The device creates a physical barrier to keep seat belts fastened until a trusted adult releases the mechanism, addressing a common safety challenge for parents and caregivers.
The invention functions as a secondary lock, preventing children from tampering with or disengaging their seat belts while a vehicle is in motion. Beyond its initial purpose for active toddlers, the design is intended to assist individuals with special needs or adults who require additional support to stay properly seated during travel. Crucially, the system includes a rapid-release feature, ensuring the belt can be disengaged instantly by an adult should an emergency occur. The device is designed for longevity, allowing parents to swap the external housing to fit new toys as the child grows. Currently, the concept is being represented by InventHelp, a Pittsburgh-based firm that manages the licensing and marketing process for independent inventors. The company is actively seeking manufacturers to bring the product to market under the reference number 25-SGM-664.
