Drawing inspiration from the original 1941 Willys MB, Jeep has introduced the 2027 Wrangler and Gladiator Sarge. The eighth release in the brand’s Twelve 4 Twelve series, these limited-edition models fuse military-inspired aesthetics with modern off-road engineering, signaling a return to the roots of the iconic American manufacturer.
The Sarge editions feature a distinct '41 Green exterior, a color that has evolved from a niche option into a signature element of the Jeep lineup. The vehicles are equipped with heritage-focused accents, including vintage-style hood decals, military-inspired door star graphics, and bronze tow hooks. Built on the Rubicon and Willys trims, both models utilize 17-inch '41 Green wheels paired with 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 All-Terrain tires to ensure off-road performance remains a priority alongside the visual redesign.Inside, the cabin shifts toward a mission-ready aesthetic, utilizing an exclusive combination of Cattle Tan Nappa leather and Drab Green surfaces. Practicality is maintained through hard-wearing Soul Cloth on seating surfaces, while Mayan Gold stitching and specific badging—including a star medallion shift knob and a 1941 cup holder plaque—underscore the historical theme. The Jeep Gladiator Sarge specifically brings this design to the pickup segment, offering a 7,700-pound towing capacity and a 1,720-pound maximum payload. According to Jeep brand CEO Bob Borderdorf, the focus remains on carrying the brand's core values into the future rather than simply replicating the past. Orders for the Sarge editions are scheduled to open later this summer, with pricing set at a modest premium over standard Rubicon and Willys configurations.
