The Salute to Service evening went beyond the diamond, serving as a platform to funnel vital resources to local veterans’ organizations.
The event featured a series of ceremonial first pitches, including one by Pennsylvania State Senator Camera Bartolotta and another by retired Air Force Master Sergeant Timothy Neale Smith, a long-time volunteer for Honor Flight Pittsburgh. Between innings, Martin’s Point Military—a non-profit health care provider managing TRICARE Prime plans—distributed charitable contributions to the Veterans Leadership Program, Honor Flight Pittsburgh, and Operation Homefront. These funds are earmarked to bolster community-based support and resources for military personnel and their families across the region.
