After a nine-year tenure, Jeffrey Welch is stepping down as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Red Rock Resorts, clearing the way for litigation veteran J. Colby Williams to take the helm. The transition marks a significant shift for the Las Vegas-based gaming giant’s leadership team.

Williams, a founding partner of the boutique firm Campbell & Williams, is scheduled to join the company around September 8, 2026. He will take over the firm’s legal, regulatory, and compliance oversight, bringing three decades of experience in complex commercial litigation and high-stakes administrative proceedings. CEO Frank Fertitta III noted that Williams’ two-decade history as a trusted advisor to the company should ensure a seamless handoff. Williams, who was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers in March 2025, will work alongside Welch through the end of the year to finalize the transition.

Welch, who has served as the company’s chief legal officer since 2017 and previously held a seat on the board of Station Holdco LLC, departs following a period of steady growth for the operator. Red Rock Resorts continues to manage a vast portfolio of Las Vegas properties, including Red Rock Casino Resort Spa and the Durango Casino Resort, maintaining its status as a primary gaming and entertainment provider in the valley.
