Kagurabachi Anime Reveals Protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Takeru Hokazono’s Weekly Shonen Jump hit Kagurabachi has unveiled its first official character visual and trailer for protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira. With the manga series exceeding 4 million copies in circulation, the project marks a major expansion for the dark, sword-action franchise.

Production duties for the series fall to studio Cypic, a CyberAgent subsidiary, under the direction of Tetsuya Takeuchi, known for his work on Sword Art Online II. Character designs are helmed by Keigo Sasaki, while the role of Chihiro Rokuhira will be voiced by 2025 Seiyu Award winner Taihi Kimura. The narrative follows Chihiro, a young man seeking vengeance against the sorcerer organization known as the Hishaku after they murdered his father and stole six powerful Enchanted Blades. Armed with the final sword, Enten, the protagonist embarks on a brutal path of retribution.

To build momentum ahead of the 2027 broadcast, producers have scheduled a series of international screenings. Fans in Los Angeles, Paris, Mannheim, and New York will receive an exclusive look at the first 20 minutes of the opening episode during the Kagurabachi Anime World Tour. These events, spanning July and August 2026, will feature appearances by key production staff and cast members, signaling a coordinated push to establish the series as a global brand following its success in Japan.
