The transition encompasses the entire enterprise imaging IT infrastructure for Emory Healthcare, which operates 11 hospitals and over 250 provider locations across Georgia. By offloading maintenance, security patches, and system upgrades to Sectra, the health system intends to reduce the technical burden on internal IT staff while ensuring consistent uptime for its diagnostic imaging services.
Isaac Zaworski, president of Sectra Inc., noted that the migration reflects a broader shift toward scalable, future-proof imaging architectures. The project follows a five-year agreement finalized during Sectra’s 2024/2025 fiscal year. Under the new arrangement, the platform will handle an average volume exceeding 1.3 million imaging examinations annually. This deployment utilizes a vendor-neutral archive (VNA) at its core, designed to support expansion across different medical specialties as the health system grows.
