Unlike third-party aggregators, this proprietary system allows the Co-op to maintain direct control over customer relationships, ensuring that local promotions and member-specific value offers remain visible throughout the digital journey.
Greg Deacon, Vice President at Snappy Shopper, noted that the focus of q-commerce has shifted beyond simple speed toward providing shoppers with greater flexibility. For Tamworth Co-op, the goal is to drive digital sales and increase basket sizes while keeping the local store at the center of the operation. CEO Dan Welsh described the launch as a necessary evolution, emphasizing that the service is designed to bring the convenience of local brick-and-mortar stores directly to the customer’s doorstep.
