Tomokazu Seki Joins Cast of Kagurabachi Anime Adaptation

The production team behind the anime adaptation of the Weekly Shonen Jump hit Kagurabachi has confirmed that veteran voice actor Tomokazu Seki will portray the legendary swordsmith Kunishige Rokuhira. This announcement arrives alongside a new character visual and a trailer detailing the tragic catalyst of the series.

Seki, known for his ability to balance intense emotional weight with nuanced character work, expressed a deep connection to the role of the protagonist’s father. In a statement, he noted that his performance focuses on the duality of Kunishige—a man who is simultaneously a warm, humorous parent and a master craftsman burdened by his own convictions. The character serves as the emotional heart of the story, as his death at the hands of the Hishaku organization drives his son, Chihiro, toward a path of vengeance.

The project is helmed by studio Cypic, featuring director Tetsuya Takeuchi and character designer Keigo Sasaki. With the manga series having already surpassed 4 million copies in circulation, the studio is positioning the anime as a flagship title. Ahead of its April 2027 broadcast, the production is launching a global promotional tour, including premiere screenings of the first twenty minutes of the opening episode in Los Angeles, Paris, Mannheim, and New York throughout the summer of 2026.
