The new safety application, debuting at the Automate conference in Chicago, moves beyond traditional onboard sensors. By leveraging NVIDIA IGX Thor and Holoscan Sensor Bridge, the system integrates building-mounted cameras and external infrastructure into the robot’s perception loop. This allows autonomous machines to dynamically adjust their speed and paths, preventing the frequent, costly slowdowns typically required by conservative, reactive safety protocols.

By providing robots with a broader view of their environment, the platform enables them to work alongside humans without compromising throughput. Beyond mere accident prevention, the technology aims to optimize complex tasks like trailer unloading and inventory replenishment.
