The partnership combines ImPACT’s established footprint in concussion assessment with UpRight Science’s smartphone-based biomechanics software. According to Bob Reish, General Manager of ImPACT, the addition offers a more holistic view of neurological health, which is essential for determining when an athlete is fit to return to competition.
Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Chief Medical Officer at UpRight Science, framed the integration as a response to a growing public health issue. Citing CDC data, Sharma noted that 2.5 million U.S. high school students reported a concussion in a single year, while approximately 1 in 76 college students experience a similar injury annually. By utilizing software that turns standard mobile devices into medical-grade diagnostic tools, both companies aim to standardize balance tracking beyond traditional clinical settings.
