Global Supply Chain Summit Convenes in Beijing

Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, framed the expo as a vehicle for sustainable economic integration. The gathering serves as a platform for 676 organizations—ranging from multinational corporations to specialized SMEs—to showcase advancements across six sectors, including digital technology, smart vehicles, and clean energy. The ceremony featured high-level contributions from South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile and ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO, while a message from King Charles III underscored the international scope of the initiative.

A central outcome of the opening was the introduction of the 4th CISCE Beijing Initiative, a joint declaration intended to foster deeper cooperation between Chinese and global firms. With Australia serving as the Guest Country of Honor and inaugural representation from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Liguria regions, the expo emphasizes localized international partnerships. Support from five major global entities, including the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the World Intellectual Property Organization, signals a broad commitment to standardizing supply chain resilience.
