Couret joins the firm following a tenure at ProA Capital, where he served as a senior investment professional. His background also includes significant stints at BNP Paribas in both New York and Madrid, providing him with extensive experience in deal origination, execution, and exits across diverse industries. The appointment follows a year-long interim leadership period for the region, overseen by Olivier Boyadjian, Managing Director of H.I.G.’s Paris office.
Wolfgang Biedermann, who leads H.I.G. Private Equity in Europe, emphasized that Couret’s track record makes him the ideal choice to consolidate the firm's franchise in Spain and Portugal. H.I.G. Capital, which currently manages $75 billion in capital, continues to focus on value-added investments, spanning management buyouts, corporate carve-outs, and debt financing. The firm has invested in over 400 companies since its inception in 1993.
