Jack Shanahan Climbs Standings After Stafford Podium

A steering failure in the final round at Stafford Motor Speedway cost Jack Shanahan the top spot, but a hard-fought second-place finish at the Formula DRIFT PRO Championship on Sunday vaulted the Kumho Tire driver into fourth place in the overall season standings.

Running on Kumho Ecsta V730 tires, Shanahan navigated four high-stakes tandem battles, including a semifinal victory over his brother, Conor. The final matchup against James Deane ended abruptly when technical issues forced Shanahan off-track during his second run. Despite the setback, the result marks his second podium of the year, building on an opening-round third-place finish in Long Beach.

Ed Cho, CEO of Kumho Tire U.S.A., credited the team's preparation and the tire's performance under extreme conditions for the driver’s recent ascent. Following his Rookie of the Year campaign last season, Shanahan is now positioning himself as a legitimate contender for the championship title. The series moves to Indianapolis Raceway Park for Round Five, scheduled for July 30 through August 1.
