The appointments come as device manufacturers face mounting pressure from the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act and new FDA security requirements. ArgusEye CEO Jackson Schultz noted that traditional, manual security reviews struggle to keep pace with modern production cycles, necessitating a shift toward automated, continuous oversight.
Jane Lute, who previously served as CEO of the Center for Internet Security, emphasized that governments are increasingly demanding rigorous security protocols prior to product deployment. Eric Byres, the architect behind the Tofino Security firewall, compared the evolution of threat modeling to a transformation in product development efficiency. Byres argued that ArgusEye’s Sentry platform moves the industry away from slow, cumbersome audits toward a model where continuous security analysis is embedded directly into engineering workflows.
