Heler Foods to debut Tetra Pak Factory OS in Cheshire creamery

British dairy producer Heler Foods is partnering with Tetra Pak to install the Factory OS platform at its Nantwich facility. This deployment, scheduled for completion by January 2028, marks the first time the advanced automation system will be utilized in a Northern European creamery to overhaul traditional cheesemaking processes.

The platform provides real-time monitoring of processing equipment, enabling autonomous adjustments designed to boost cheese yield and product consistency. By integrating digital oversight, the system aims to reduce energy and water consumption while minimizing overall waste, addressing the volatility currently facing food producers. The project represents a significant technological leap for the family-owned business as it looks to scale its Eatlean Protein brand.

George Heler, CEO of Heler Foods, noted that the investment secures the company’s long-term position in the British market by providing the precision required for functional cheese products. Developed alongside Accenture and supported by an ecosystem including Siemens and Rockwell Automation, the technology will transform the Nantwich site into one of the most sophisticated cheese plants in Europe.
