The partnership leverages Zipline’s electric drone fleet to bypass road congestion, ensuring meals reach customers in pristine condition. Wonder, which is currently building out its kitchen and logistics infrastructure in the state, expects the majority of its Texas-based locations to support the service by the end of 2027. Dallas will serve as the initial launch point for the rollout.
To facilitate the process, Wonder will utilize the Zipline Dropbox, a loading system that integrates with existing storefronts without requiring major construction. Orders are placed in a keypad-secured drawer, where Zipline’s autonomous drones retrieve them for delivery. Tony Hoggett, CEO of Wonder North America, noted that the collaboration aims to enhance food accessibility while pushing the boundaries of traditional logistics. Zipline brings significant experience to the venture, having completed over 2.5 million autonomous deliveries across the healthcare, retail, and food sectors globally.
