Craig Benson departs Raley’s after 27-year technology tenure

“I began my journey with Raley’s in 1999 as a helpdesk intern,” said Craig Benson, marking the end of a near three-decade career at the American grocery retailer. The Chief Information Technology Officer announced his departure this week, capping a long tenure that saw him rise from entry-level support to executive leadership.

Benson’s career path at The Raley’s Companies spanned the evolution of the retailer’s digital infrastructure. Starting in 1999, he eventually took the helm of Technology Services, overseeing system modernizations, platform integrations, and the company's expansion into new business capabilities. His leadership touched various divisions, including Bashas’ and FieldTRUE, navigating the firm through complex technological shifts.

In his announcement, Benson emphasized that the decision to step away is personal, intended to prioritize time with family and reflect on future professional endeavors. He noted that while he oversaw critical operational changes, his most significant takeaway from the nearly 30-year stint remains the professional relationships and mentorships formed across the organization.
