Peter Thiel Urged Elon Musk to Abandon Charity for 'Antichrist' Crusade

Billionaire investor Peter Thiel recently advised Elon Musk to withdraw from the Giving Pledge, arguing that philanthropic commitments merely funnel wealth toward left-leaning causes. Instead, Thiel proposed that Musk hoard his fortune to fund a defensive campaign against a prophesied 'Antichrist' figure he believes threatens global governance.

During a closed-door event in San Francisco last month, the PayPal co-founder outlined a vision where the modern Antichrist manifests as a 'Luddite' figure attempting to stifle scientific progress. Thiel specifically labeled environmental activist Greta Thunberg and AI critic Eliezer Yudkowsky as 'legionnaires' of this existential threat, suggesting that Musk’s capital would be better utilized to counter such opposition than donated through traditional channels.

Reports indicate that Musk appeared receptive to these warnings. This alignment comes as scrutiny intensifies regarding Musk's own charitable history. Investigations reveal that the Musk Foundation has repeatedly failed to meet mandatory donation thresholds. Furthermore, a 2021 pledge of $6 billion in Tesla shares—intended for United Nations hunger relief—was reportedly diverted to his own private foundation rather than reaching those at risk of starvation.

Beyond his ideological opposition to traditional philanthropy, Thiel expressed frustration with the global financial landscape. He lamented to his audience that modern tax treaties, financial surveillance, and international sanctions have made it increasingly difficult to shield personal wealth from government oversight. Thiel, a long-time political ally of Vice President JD Vance, continues to advocate for a worldview where private capital serves as a barricade against what he defines as institutional decay.
